Bentley and Estede have reported that sales of the first collection of limited edition solid gold sunglasses are through the roof. Celebrating the one-year anniversary of working together, the stylish and somewhat decadent sunglasses line is designed with Bentley's dedication of luxury in mind. The modern sunglasses, created in the style of the popular aviator eyewear, are available in either 18-carat solid gold, silver palladium or platinum with the Bentley ‘B' logo embedded in the hand-polished coating, with engraved surfaces reflecting the quilted leather interior favored in Bentley cars.
AMG’s Tobias Moers has confirmed that a new Mercedes SLS is planned – as is a sub-SLS SLC – but it won’t come with hybrid power and electric assistance. But the Mercedes take on a supercar – the Mercedes SLS – isn’t set to go down the KERS route ant time soon according to AMG’s Director of Vehicle Development, Tobias Moers, who said that a next generation SLS – which is under development – would rely on weight saving and engine tweaking, just like the new Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series (pictured above), rather than electric assistance for its performance. Moers also said that Mercedes and AMG realised that the AMG brand doesn’t have the cachet of Ferrari and they have no plans to produce a car to go head to head with LaFerrari (or even the McLaren P1) so we won’t be seeing a hyper-SLS pushed upmarket in to the firing line of Ferrari any time soon.

Supermini estates are a bit of an oddity - most people looking for a roomy car want extra space in the cabin too. But Skoda clearly reckoned the old Skoda wagon was worth replacing because the new one makes its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Spetember. Based on the new Fabia hatch we drove earlier this year, the new estate is just 7mm longer but 46mm loftier than the old estate.
